If you find your feed filled with rage-bait and conspiracy theories, the algorithm isn't failing. It is succeeding. It is reflecting your own engagement patterns back at you.
Instead of demanding that Meta "fix" the algorithm, we should be demanding that users take agency. But that’s a hard sell. It’s much easier to blame a "greedy" corporation than to admit that we, as a collective, have an appetite for the sensational.
